Palmer & Howells are celebrating after securing the catering contract at the prestigious Wellington School in Somerset. Located in Wellington, Somerset the school has over 750 day & boarding pupils.

Hot on the heels of new contracts in Birmingham and Reading the contract at Wellington marks the continued expansion of the privately owned catering company.

Kevin Howells, director commented “We have made a deliberate choice to remain an independent company working within 1.5 hours of our Bristol base. It allows us to offer a unique service and rapid response from senior management. The new contracts we are winning show this is a recipe for success”.

The contract commenced at the start of the summer term.

Palmer & Howells are delighted to have been awarded two new contracts in September 2009. They were for the catering at The Blue Coat School, Edgbaston in Birmingham and Elstree School in Woolhampton, near Reading.

Both Schools were previously operated by their own "in-house" teams, who have now successfully transferred across to us and have been very happy with the additional support and empowerment that has enabled them to undertake their work in a more efficient and effective manner.

Both Schools have been amazed at the quick transformation in their existing service and pupils and staff alike; at both schools, have been quick to comment on the improvements and large strides forward made by the respective teams.

As one pupil at Elstree School commented; when interviewing Kevin for the School newsletter, "we used to say oh supper now we say ah ha supper and really look forward to our meals".
